oval silver medal surmounted by crown. The obverse bears the joint busts of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra,crowned, the whole surrounded by a wreath of laurel which is tied at its top and base by a ribbon. The wreath, which is raised and forms an ornamental rim to the medal, is surmounted by a crown : The reverse bears ER VII cypher, ornate and interlaced, surmounted by a crown. Beneath the cypher is the text. The whole is surrounded by laurel wreath as obverse : "26 JUNE 1902" . The medal is suspended by an oval ring. The ribbon is dark blue with a central vertical stripe of red and at each edge a narrow vertical stripe of white.
