History note
Korean War (1950-1953) campaign service medal awarded to (6287301) Sergeant S J Raggett, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
This medal was instituted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 12 December 1950, "in recognition of the valour and sacrifice of the men and women who have served on behalf of the United Nations in repelling aggression in Korea". The medal was earned by 1 day's service under United Nations command in Korea or adjacent areas. The blue of the ribbon is described as 'United Nations blue'.
