Badge shape: star, ten-pointed (multi-rayed with superimposed five-pointed star).
Badge design: motto of the order, Arabic, court script, in dark blue enamel on a raised silver roundel which is centred upon a five pointed star in white enamel edged with silver. The five pointed star is in turn centred upon the principal, ten pointed, multi-rayed star. The whole surmounted by a small linked crown.
Badge text: Arabic text, translated as "What benefits Egypt owes to the Nile, her source of prosperity and happiness!"
Suspender: ring, circular (attached via integral ring at the top, rear, of the linked crown).
Ribbon colours: light blue & yellow.
Ribbon pattern: light blue with a yellow stripe at either edge (6 mm wide).
Badge of the Egyptian Order of the Nile awarded to Major W J Maule, British Army, in connection with the recipient's involvement, as part of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force, in the Palestine Campaign 1917-1918.
