Obverse design: King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, joint busts, left profiles, crowned, surrounded by a wreath of laurel which is tied at its top and base by a ribbon. The wreath, which is raised and forms an ornamental rim to the medal, is surmounted by a crown
Reverse design: ER VII cypher, ornate and interlaced, surmounted by a crown. Beneath the cypher is the text. The whole is surrounded by laurel wreath as obverse.
Reverse text: "26 JUNE 1902".
Suspender: ring, oval.
Ribbon colours: dark blue & white & scarlet.
Ribbon pattern: white/DARK BLUE/scarlet/DARK BLUE/white.
Designed by Emil Fuchs (note his name above the King's shoulder on the obverse design) and struck by Elkington & Co, this medall commemorated the coronation of King Edward VII on 9 August 1902.
