Object description

image: Playing snow-balls.

Physical description

Powder paint painting that had been hinged onto a single sheet of white mount board, but which has since been detached from the board and float mounted in a frame. Previously folded in half vertically down the centre.

Label

The paintings and linocuts were made by girls aged between twelve and fourteen from Farrance Street School, Limehouse, East London, who were evacuated to the village of Somerton, Somerset, in 1939. They are from the Mary Speaight collection.
