2 TURN TO PORT
Point right wand at Port wheel, left wand circling level with head.
3 TURN TO STARB'D
Point left wand at Starboard wheel, right wand circling level with head.
4 SLOW DOWN
Downward patting motion, wands at waist level.
5 STOP
Wands upraised stationary.
6 ON BRAKES (EMERGENCY STOP)
Wands crossed in front of forehead.
7 GO ASTERN
Wands pointing downward below waist, 'sweeping' aircraft backward.
8 INSERT CHOCKS
Wands pointed inwards, swept together at waist level.
9 CUT ENGINE
Wand drawn across throat, point other hand at selected engine if more than one.
10 THUMBS UP
By Director only: 'All is clear.'
11 START ENGINE
Point at selected engine and crank clockwise with other wand.
This signal preceded by signal 'ON BRAKES.'
12 AWAY CHOCKS
Wands pointed outward, swept apart at waist.
13 FOLD WINGS
Arms from sideways stretch, swept in to hug shoulders.
14 SPREAD WINGS
From hugging shoulders, arms swept out to sideways stretch.
15 LOWER WING FLAPS
Wands flat together horizontally, then opened alligator's mouth fashion.
16 RAISE WING FLAPS
Wands open like an alligator;s mouth, then snapped shut.
17 LOCK TAIL WHEEL
Wands over head in form of letter V, then snapped shut.
18 UNLOCK TAIL WHEEL
Wands held together overhead, then opened to form letter V.
19 UP HOOK
Wand suddenly raised vertically to meet other wand held horizontally.
20 OPEN COWL FLAPS
Wands held vertically against ears, then semi-circling motion.
21 PASS TO NEXT DIRECTOR
Both wands at same level pointed at next director.
