Object description

An Afghan civilian from the village of Yaka China carries a child, wounded during a United States Army AH-64 Apache helicopter strike on a house suspected of housing insurgents, to be tended by medics of 2nd Platoon, Battle Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade. The platoon are taking part in Operation Rock Avalanche: an operation which aimed to draw out insurgents, disrupt weapons supplies, and capture or kill key Taliban/insurgent leaders. October 2007.
