Original wartime caption: This Officer has displayed great initiative and daring on intruder patrols. In May 1943, he attacked an enemy airfield and caused severe damage to several aircraft on the ground. On another occasion he bombed and machine-gunned a hangar at another enemy airfield. He has also made intruder sorties on heavily defended areas in Tunisia. On one of these he entered the circuit of the airfield with enemy aircraft and destroyed one and damaged another. This officer since the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross has continued to display outstanding enthusiasm to engage the enemy and has destroyed six enemy aircraft and damaged many more.
