D.F.M. FOR LEADING AIRCRAFTMAN WHO PICKED UP BLAZING OXYGEN BOTTLE WITH BARE HANDS
Original wartime caption: For his courage and presence of mind in picking up a blazing bottle of oxygen with his bare hands and throwing it out of the Wellington bomber of which he was Acting Flight Engineer - Leading Aircraftman J.A. SKINGSLEY of West Wickham, Kent, has been awarded the D.F.M.
