Colour negatives and prints, all portraits of Field Marshal Lord Bramall taken during an official portrait photo shoot to mark Lord Bramall's appointment to the position of Chief of the General Staff in 1982. The portraits show the subject wearing uniform, ceremonial rodes and civilian clothing.
Colour negatives (each 60mm x 60mm, mostly in strips of 3) and colour photographic prints on Kodak paper. All portraits of Lord Bramall in robes, uniforms or suit. A number of the prints are attached to envelopes holding the negatives. The envelopes and prints carry annotations handwritten in ink. The sets of negatives are grouped together inside two photographic laboratory processing envelopes - text printed in red with handwritten annotations in ink.
