Collection: Ethel Maud Honey Collection Photographs

Photograph album, covered with a Royal Navy rating's collar, and tied with a Royal Navy rating's 'HMS' cap tally compiled by Ethel Maud Honey of Cape Town, South Africa. Honey collected photographs and mementoes from sailors who lodged with her when their ships came into Simonstown for repairs. Included is a list of names of some 'the boys' for who Mrs Honey provided hospitality. Also featured are some portraits of members of the companies and porraits of or mementoes from the following ships: HMS MALAGAS; HMS QUADRANT; HMS BIRMINGHAM; shore establishment HMS DEFIANCE; HMS BIRMINGHAM; HMS RACEHORSE; HMS HAWKINS; HMS FROBISHER; HMS NEWCASTLE; HMS ILLUSTRIOUS; HMS KENYA; HMS PALLADIN; HMS PATHFINDER; HMS CUMBERLAND; HMS NIGERIA; HMS AWE; HMS TEVIOT; HMS SENNEN; HMS HALLENDALE; Also included is a greetings card from Mrs Honey and daughters, The Sailor newspaper Volume 3 No 3 of July / August / September 1945 and 'Bellville United Armistice Thanksgiving Service' order of service.
