A collection of loose prints reflecting the service of Sub Lieutenant J G F Inglis, Engineering Officer aboard HMS BELFAST and HMS EURYALUS during the mid 1940s.
The collection consists of thirteen amateur photographs, presumably taken by Inglis, depicting compartments and areas aboard HMS BELFAST which he would have had access / responsibility for (c.1947). These areas include: 'B' Boiler Room; the After Engine Room; the Forward Engine Room control position; the Engineers' Office (and messenger); the Wardroom, Wardroom ante-room and bar.
There are also two commercial photographs which are ship portraits of HMS EURYALUS during her visit to New Zealand in 1946 and two misc. photographs, presumably EURYALUS, passing Hong Kong and also of HMS SUFFOLK as seen from Aden, both May 1946.
Seventeen loose prints 213mm x 162mm (2 of); 100mm x 68mm (13 of) and 83mm x 58 mm (2 of). On the reverse of the prints are stamps of commercial origin (the two larger images) and hand-written caption labels (the 15 smaller images).
