General Władysław Anders, the GOC of the Polish Army in Soviet Union, with his staff officers in Russia. Colonel Leopold Okulicki, the Chief of Staff of the Army, is third from the right and General Michał Tokarzewski-Karaszewicz, the Commander of the 6th 'Lwów' Infantry Division, is on the far right. General Anders is using a walking stick as he was released from Soviet prison just a few months before, suffering from severe wounds to both legs.
