Photographs relating to the service of Cecil Marshall with the Army Ordnance Corps in the Mesopotamia Campaign during the First World War.
Images include views of Baghdad Bridge over the River Tigris; the building used as a office by Marshall and his colleagues and a narrow-gauge locomotive hauling wagons of fodder. There are also photographs of scenes in Basra: the Indian Army Supply and Transport Depot; the civilian post office on 'The Strand'; the mouth of Ashar Creek; Whiteley Bridge crossing Ashar Creek and the buildings used as the British engineer field park. There is also a single photograph of the British military camp at Ali Gharbi south of Kut.
Other images in the collection include a group photograph of Army Ordnance Corps office staff in Alexandria during May 1916; the Royal Army Medical Corps Depot, No. 4 Camp at Deolali in India and a locomotive used on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
