Collection of 66 black and white prints and two greetings cards related to the Royal Flying Corps, First World War.
The collection includes group portraits of Royal Air Force including Major Ian Malcom Bonham Carter DSO, Captain Bailey, Captain Lawson DFC, Captain Croden DFC in front of an Airco DH.9A, unidentified group photographs, a group in front of a captured Fokker D VII. A photograph of the funeral of Lieutenant J B Guthrie and Lieutenant Harold Victor Thornton both No. 34 Squadron RAF who were shot down over Austrian lines, 10 May 1918. After the funeral the print was air dropped over the British Lines. Also included are photographs of the graves of 2nd Lieutenant Laurence Borrie Jupp and 2nd Lieutenant James Taylor both No. 34 Squadron (date of death 26 July 1918), Lieutenant Brooks Henry Street, No. 34 Squadron RAF and 2nd/7th Battalion, Welsh Regiment (date of death 6 August 1918), and Alan Herbert Green DCM, No. 32 Squdron RAF and Royal Engineers (died of wounds 26 February 1918). The collection also contains prints of assorted British and German aircraft including Bristol Fighters, Armstrong Whitworth RE.8, Airco 18 Albatros C.V, Pfalz D.XII, Hannover CL.II, Halberstadt, airships and Captain Lowe MC in his Bristol Fighter in 1919.
Also a number of aerial photographs marked Crassier and Fosse, scenic photographs of the mountains, five aerial oblique photographs of Venice.
