A series of black and white photographs covering early deck take-off trials during the First World War. Many of the photographs depict Sopwith Pup (serial N6100) on-board what appears to be a monitor fitted with launching rails at the bow. The photographs show the Pup being moved for its hanger and readied for flight. Other photographs show a standard Pup undergoing arrester wire trials and a Sopwith Cuckoo on torpedo dropping trials at RAF East Fortune on 25 July 1918.
Black and white photographic prints, 11 of which are printed on RNAS paper. Many of the prints have handwritten annotations on the reverse and two carry technical annotations in ink on the image side of the print.
