Photographs from the album of a First World War German soldier.
One part of the photographs are captioned in German. They were taken on the western front, most of them during the Battle of the Somme or in Ypern. Many of them are singed "Alois".
The other part is captioned in Dutch. These photographs were taken at various places on the western as well as the eastern front. They also in include portraits of German politicians (at least some of them captioned after the war) and maps, also captioned in Dutch.
207 loose black and white prints of varying size, most with evidence of previously having been mounted in an album. Most have handwritten captions on the reverse.
