BOMBER FLIES MOSCOW - SINGAPORE IN THREE DAYS, SINGAPORE, C. DECEMBER 1941
A four-engined American bomber with a United States Army Star on the fuselage glided into a Singapore Royal Air Force station and there stepped out several members of the United States mission (which was headed by Averill Harriman). The plane was only three days out of Moscow, demonstrating the ability of America to deliver bombers to Russia within a few days. The mission members were optimistic about the strength of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to resist Nazis. No 3: The British Air Officer Commanding Far East, Air Vice Marshal Pulford, chats with mission member Wardell of American Red Cross.
