51 prints relating to Shanghai Municipal Police Force, circa 1925-1940, and later Shanghai Defence Force including Sikh division, Chinese police officers and British senior officers. Police barracks, training and parade ground. Also includes a very brutal set of images detailing the execution of Chinese prisoners, including women, by firing squad, possibly as a result of the supression of a nationalist uprising in the mid 1920s. Also details of Stubbins's service in the Yorkshire Regiment during the First World War.
