The 'Pathfinders' group of the Duxford Aviation Society who carried out deep conservation work on the Museum's BAC TSR 2. On 4 February they were visited by Wing Commander R P Beaumont CBE who was the aircraft's chief test pilot, and who made presentations to the group, 4 February 1990.

The Avenger had been newly repainted in the colours of the aircraft flown by President George Bush as a US Navy pilot during the Second World War and like the President's original aircraft, had been named "Barbara" after Mrs Bush, 18 June 1990.

In July, a French television unit visited Duxford to film for its production "Moi, General de Gaulle". A number of Duxford staff volunteered to take part as extras, 11 July 1990.

Visit to Duxford by the former pilot with No 19 Squadron, Wallace Cunningham. He was based at Duxford with squadron in 1940 and participated in the Battle of Britain, 13 July 1990. Also photographed was the visit to Duxford by member so the Free Czechoslovakian Air Force Association, fifty years after they had first arrived there in 1940 following the fall of France. As No's 310 and 312 Squadrons RAF, they participated in the Battle of Britain.
