Object description

One photo album containing black and white prints entitled 'The Sino-Japanese Hostilities, Shanghai, 1937' produced by Chinese commercial photographer Ah Fong. Images depict Japanese troops in action, Vickers Crossley armoured cars of the Japanese Special Naval Landing Forces in Shanghai, Chinese anti-aircraft artillery, Chinese troops in German Army uniforms in action, ships sunk in the port and air raid damage and civilian victims.

Physical description

Black card album with '1937 The Sino-Japanese Hostilities Shaghai' embossed on the front with embossed images of cartoon style aircraft, bombs, ships, tanks, and a burning city. The album has black paper pages laced through the spine with black cord. The pages are interleaved with protective sheets. No annotations. Black and white prints attached to the pages with silver corners - four of the prints are printed in red.
