The portfolio contains 28 photographic sheets bearing annotated vertical and oblique aerial reconnaissance views of locations in Belgium and France taken by Corps squadrons of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force between 1916 and 1918, and vertical mosaics prepared for the General Staff of the Canadian Corps, 1917-1918. These comprise: vertical map-mosaics of Vimy Ridge, including; Canadian Corps Fronts, February 1917; 1st Canadian Division Front, 5 April 1917 and German support line, 6 April 1917; 2nd and 3rd Canadian Division Fronts, 5 April 1917; 2nd and 3rd Canadian Division Fronts, 6 April 1917. Other sheets show: a vertical mosaic of Hooge to Armagh Wood, Ypres Salient, July 1916; vertical views of features in the Ypres Salient, March-August 1916; Lens and the Lens Sector, 1916-1918; vertical mosaic and vertical and oblique views of Arras-Mons, August-November 1918 and the Arras-Cambrai battles, August-October 1918; oblique views of the Amiens Sector, August 1918; vertical mosaics of Hem-Lenglet, Douai-Goeulzin Line, Queant-Drocourt Line and Canal L'Escaut; vertical mosaic and oblique views of Valenciennes, 1918; vertical and corresponding ground views of concrete tank traps at Buissy and on the Henin-Lietard-Douai Road, all 1918.
