Object description
Four photograph albums and 8 loose mounted prints relating to the service of Commander Francis Herbert Heaveningham Goodhart DSO AM RN (1884-1917) in the Royal Navy during the First World War. The collection includes photographs of the activities of British and Russian submarines while Goodhart was in command of the submarine E 8 in the Baltic. Also, photographs taken during a visit by British and Russian submarine officers to the Crimea and the Galician Front in March 1916.
Physical description
One green cloth-covered photograph album with photographic prints glued to pages. No information relating to the photographic prints is on the pages. Also three grey card-covered photograph albums, with laced in pages (some now detached), prints are glued to the pages and a number of the pages have annotations handwritten in ink.
Eight loose prints (seven of which are mounted on board) of submarines, warships, naval personnel. Five of the mount boards carry the stamp of t Russian commercial photography studio on the reverse.
