Black and white photographs relating to the service of C H C Baldwin as an NCO and later officer in a number of Royal Artillery units including 87th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment; 91st Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, 279th Anti-Aircraft Battery; 395th Anti-Aircraft Battery of 91st Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment; 78th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment.
The photographs cover group photographs and individual portraits of officers and men (some named) of Tees "C" anti-aircraft battery in 1939 and 1940 at Jarrow Hall and Low Urpeth Farm, Birtley; the Tees "C" site from the air (28 May 1940); off duty and sports day scenes; unit at Morton Mill and Ingelhurst, Bingley in Yorkshire (January - May 1941); portraits of officers from Tees "K" battery in 1940 and the gun being operated during a training exercise in November 1940.
Also 279th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery at Oswestry in June 1941, including guns, transport and a group photograph of the unit's officers (all named); 395th Anti-Aircraft Battery band at Immingham in April 1942; and the battery at El Ta Hag Camp in Egypt, August 1942, including numerous portraits of named individuals; scenes of the unit's Christmas Day celebrations in 1942; 395th Regimental football team, March 1943 at Beirut; officers (all named) of 91st Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment at El Ta Hag camp, August 1942; group photograph of "F" Troop, 78th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment at Haifa in 1943 (the unit includes a large number of Tswana personnel from modern day Botswana). Also, 245 Battery, of 78th Regiment in Italy, includes group photograph of HQ personnel (all named).
The collection also includes many tourist style photographs of Acre, Beirut and Cairo. Also a number of portrait photographs of C Baldwin during his service in the Royal Artillery and a programme for the play "Robin Hood and his Merry Men" performed by 245th Battery in Italy during May 1944.

One brown leather covered pghotograph album with pages laced in using brass ended blue cord. The black and white photographic prints are glued to the album pages and are accompanied by handwritten annotations in ink and pencil.
