Black and white photographs of naval officers and midshipmen aborad the first class cruiser HMS ROYAL ARTHUR and the pre-dereadnought battleship HMS RAMILLIES during the 1890s. Amongst the officers in the group photograph taken onboard HMS RAMILLIES is Commander John Rushworth Jellicoe, who was appointed to the ship in October 1893, when the vessel was serving as flagship of the Royal Navy's Mediterranean Fleet. The commander of the Mediterranean Fleet, Admiral Sir Michael Culme-Seymour is also in the photograph. The collection also includes a photographs of HMS RAMILLIES dressed with signal flags.
