When, at 9.30pm on June 5
"blessent mon coeur / d'une langueur / monotone"
was broadcast, the Ventriloquist circuit immediately began its sabotage: cutting railways, dynamiting roadways, and disrupting entire
communication networks.
Because an invasion hadn't occurred by June 3, German High Command alerted its troops that this second message must be the 48 hour warning.
In fact, the airborne landings were less than three hours away.
After so many false alarms, the German forces responsible for responding, the Seventh Army, took no action.'
