A corrugated iron 'elephant hut' lies in pieces in a snow-covered field. These semi-circular structures were designed
to be temporary accommodation and storage during the War. In this work, Kennington explores the transitory nature of war. The field is now
deserted, the camp having hastily moved on. The hut is discarded having served its purpose.
