SPITFIRE - HE SHOT DOWN TWO GERMAN 'PLANES IN DAYLIGHT ACTION - 20TH JANUARY 1943.
Original wartime caption: W/Cdr. Milne, one of the three pilots from a famous Brigith fighter station who between them destroyed six of the German 'planes which attacked London and S.e. England in daylight on 20th January 1943. All three were flying the new Spitfire - the Spitfire IX. Wing Commander Milne shot down an Me.109 and FW.190 in what he described as 'an extremely nice show'. Two more enemy planes were destroyed by S/Ldr.Armstrong DFC and the remaining two being accounted for by a Fighting French pilot.
