The Spitfire lost for almost 50 Years
Spitfire N3200 flew its first and only operation on 26 May 1940, piloted by Geoffrey Stephenson as he led his squadron on a patrol to cover the evacuation of Allied forces from the beaches of Dunkirk.  
Commander Edward Fowle Pizey DSC, Commander of HMS PORPOISE with Commander John Wallace Linton DSC VC, Commander of HMS TURBULENT. Linton was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross on 25 May 1943 for his actions in the Mediterranean, 1942-1943.

Commander John Linton was commander of the T-Class Submarine Turbulent when it went missing in 1943. He was posthumously awarded the VC for sustained bravery and leadership during his four years  of wartime service.

Major Parkash Singh VC
Parkash Singh (1913-1991) served in the Indian Army during the Second World War. He showed great courage under fire against the Japanese and was awarded the Victoria Cross (VC). Parkash was born in the western Punjab in India (now in Pakistan).
