Commander Loftus Jones VC
Commander Jones' torpedo boat destroyer, HMS Shark, came under heavy attack from German shellfire during the Battle of Jutland. Jones, though mortally wounded, encouraged his men to the last and only left his ship when it was beyond saving.

Jack Cornwell was only 16 when he lost his life at the Battle of Jutland. His ship came under heavy fire and he was mortally wounded, but stayed steady at his post, ready to follow orders. It was this devotion to duty that earned him both the nation’s respect and a posthumous Victoria Cross
Commander Edward Fowle Pizey DSC, Commander of HMS PORPOISE with Commander John Wallace Linton DSC VC, Commander of HMS TURBULENT. Linton was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross on 25 May 1943 for his actions in the Mediterranean, 1942-1943.
