Due to condition of items, this collection has been photocopied and is no longer accessible to the public except by applying to the Head of the Library Development Team

The collection comprises a scrapbook and file of loose papers relating to the service of Grace McDougal in the British Red Cross overseas and the development of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry Corps and its service during the First World War and beyond. Included are five albums of photographs depicting Grace McDougal herself and other F.A.N.Y.s in general at work overseas. 'Publications' included in the collection are "Infimieres de Guerre : en service commande" by Jane de Launoy (Bruxelles: l'Edition Universelle, ca. 1938) which is a signed presentation copy given to Grace McDougal, "University of Aberdeen roll of service in the Great War, 1914-1919" edited by Mabel Desborough Allardyce (Aberdeen: Aberdeen University Press, 1921) a personal copy of Grace McDougal and finally a manuscript "diary of Unit 5, Colonie F.A.N.Y., Corps de Transport Armee Belge" kept between September 1916 - 25th January 1918 at the Hospital de Passage, Calais, (leather bound with gilt decoration)
