LG

[No More War? Drawing by L. Griffel. Do you think the fat man brings peace? Or could bring peace, even if he wanted to? Did he want the
World War? No, he must have wanted it! He and his competitors throughout the world must all have wanted it, for they all want coal for
their ships, oil for their machines, ore for their industry and buyers for their goods. If they all want to have the same thing, they have
to fight over it. But they don't fight themselves. They send you into their war to die, you whom they barely allow to survive in peacetime.
Do you think things could be different? Perhaps because they send pacifists and Social Democrats into the government to pacify you? Is the
competitive economic system changed by this: does each group of capitalists cease to want coal, oil, ore, buyers, ideally for themselves
alone? Only a fool can believe that the League of Nations, courts of arbitration and treaties, i.e. pacifism, will banish competition from
the world! For the robberies perpetrated on you they of course need a community of nations, courts of arbitration and tariff agreements,
i.e. internal peace, but for the robberies perpetrated on one another they need external war. As long as capitalism exists, things must
again and again end in war. Again and again you will be the ones who bleed, who die, whose wives and children go hungry, whose last small
savings disappear. Is it always to be like this? You all want peace! People like Scheidemann, Gerlach, Deimling, these general pacifists
who today cry 'Never again war' but mean 'Never again civil war', are speculating on this. They want only civil peace: so that you keep the
peace with capital. But we Communists say to you: peace deals are the path to war! The collapse of capital is the path to peace! Only when
you resolve to fight against capital will you conquer true peace! Therefore gather around the Communist banner! Vote for Communist list 4!
