Amateur film shot by Guardsman Tracy Evans of 4 Platoon, 2 Company, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, records scenes at Pirbright Barracks, embarkation at Southampton on RMS Queen Elizabeth II, Freetown (Sierra Leone), transfer to SS Canberra, battle scenes ashore on the Falkland Islands until Argentinean surrender at Port Stanley and the repatriation of Argentinian prisoners of war to Puerto Madryn, Argentina.

Young Guardsmen at Pirbright Barracks playing up for the cameraman. On firing range. Cold weather. Empty parade ground. With PT instructor, exercising by swinging arms and bending knees. On firing range.. Soldier points rifle at cameraman, then mimic falling dead. On parade ground. (3 mins 6 secs) Older soldiers in cramped accomodation - below decks? On deck (overexposed.) Loading stores from UK dockside. Guardsmen lining deck guard rail, pilot boat alongside. Pan across spectators. (Overexposed) ( 6 mins 31 secs) Ashore on Falklands, panning across bleak. Bluish sky - evening? Argentinian POW (?) looks into camera, on board the ship returning POWs to Puerto Madryn. Chinook transports underslung vehicle. Soldiers wearing parkas. Windswept tussocks. - very exposed position. Chinook hovers over larger supply dump of material. Sea King helicopter drops load on shore, with sea in background. Pan inland. (9 mins 37 secs) Brighter weather. Sea King drops underslung load. (10 mins) Distant explosions from Argentinian shellfire, with shipping in San Carlos behind. (Overexposed) Soldiers exchange rifles by throwing in air. Guardsmen sport variety of headgear, now that conflict appears to ahve ended. Distinctive red roofs of Stanley. Jeep drives along road. Soldiers now without helmets in Stanley (13 mins 21 secs) (Overexposed) On board St Edmund - Argentinian POW. Guardsmen line rails. (14 mins 22 secs)
