LOADING AND UNLOADING TRIALS OF LARC-V AND DUKW, FREMINGTON, DEVON, CA 1959 [Allocated Title]
Various loads are lifted by crane (on hardstanding) and fork lift truck onto LARC-V amphibious truck (with nine-foot beam), Bedford lorry and DUKW amphibious vehicle. Location is possiby the Royal Army Ordnance Corps depot at Fremington Camp.
First load trial is of a Conex metal container, lowered by crane onto LARC and DUKW. Nets full of ammunition boxes are loaded onto LARC, lorry and DUKW. Next are pallets filled with boxes of Royal Army Service Corps compo rations. Other loads are jerrycans, coils of barbed wire and Bailey bridge sections. Crates of Royal Army Ordnance Corps shell containers are also moved by fork lift truck.
