Full description
Two Indian muleteers, on a track through undergrowth, set down an ammunition box. Unloading something from a mule. British soldiers tramping across a sodden field. Walking along a track through thick growth. British troops passing camera apparently in good spirits. Walking along the track. Walking across a field in single file; muleteers bring up the rear. Feet in ankle-deep water. Mules pass. Troops sloshing past. Dark shots that appear to show the troops and mules sheltering from the rain. British soldiers walk out across a shallow river. Static shot; two soldiers stand and grin at the camera while two other in the background squat on the ground. Troops advancing cautiously along a muddy track in pouring rain. A Bren gun team go prone on a grassy bank and open fire (a thin twig or branch waves across shot in the out-of-focus foreground, but does not obscure the shot too much). A closer shot of the Bren gunner. A panning shot from left-to-right follows four British soldiers charging forward; three have Sten guns and fire from the hip as they run, and one in seen firing and recocking his rifle; the Bren team can be glimpsed in the background. One of the men with a Sten gun is seen to have a revolver holster on his belt; the same man is then seen walking into shot, firing two bursts, standing, from his Sten gun (from the hip), before kneeling and firing from the shoulder. The Bren team firing, seen from behind and below. A briefing in a sunken lane; a soldier unfolds a map which is then discussed and other soldiers keep watch. Closer shot with discussion over the map; the soldier with the map has five magazines for his Sten gun jammed into an ammunition pouch.
