EXERCISE DESTINED GLORY in southern Spain, 5-22 May 1998. Scenes of 45 Commando group seaborne, conducting a beach landing, patrolling inland and being ambushed during their patrol. This is followed by footage of Royal Marine Commandoes at RAF Ascension, embarking onto a Hercules transport aircraft.

OPERATION LADBROOK, in the Congo, August to September 1998. Footage of Royal Marines on operation preparing to evacuate British Nationals, including the task forces arrival, a river patrol in Rigid raiders, camping in local woods and patrolling a built up area (probably the capital city Kinshasha) both from the Congo river and on foot. A Hercules transport aircraft lands, the marines embark and, later, touch down at their destination in darkness.

OPERATION TELLAR, in Nicaragua during October and November 1998. Aerial footage of the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch and flight deck operations launched from HMS Ocean (L.12), focused on the supply of food, water and materials to those affected by the hurricane. Captain Turner (HMS Ocean) is interviewed about the overall operation and the task group deployed to complete it. Lieutenant Shallows, Chief Petty Officer O'Prey (HMS Ocean) and Lieutenant Morley (Royal Marines) are interviewed about finding an overturned local lobster boat and the survivors they rescued from it, with footage of the rescue itself. Interviews with MA Morley and Leading Seaman Holly from HMS Ocean. Interview with Chief Petty Officer (MA) Chamberlain (HMS Ocean) about the medical supplies being sent and used. Interview with Captain Maher (Quarter Master, Royal Marines) about moving supplies inland. Footage then moves onto the geographical areas being helped, starting with water distribution and infrastructure repairs at Anris Tara (codenamed LS Palm). Interviews with Sergeant Clark, Marine Martin and Second Lieutenant Boschi (45 Commando, Royal Marines) on their operations in the area. Footage moves to Siksayali (codenamed LS Mahogany), showing footage of the damage to the area. Interview with Staff Sergeant Gaul (59 Commando, Royal Engineers) about assisting to rebuild their homes. Footage moves to Asang (codenamed LS Lime), where the infrastructure is intact but the villagers have lost their entire crop and food supplies. Interviews with Second Lieutenant Cowan (45 Commando, Royal Marines), who initially evaluated the area is helping to distribute food supplies, Petty Officer (MA) Phillips (845 NAS) who is helping treat diseases caused by the disaster and Leading Medical Assistant (LMA) Dixon (HMS Ocean) who is providing local medical support. Interview with Corporal Sharp (45 Commando, Royal Marines) who has been patrolling the outlying and more remote villages, distributing clothing and blankets to tribal elders for them to hand out as they see fit.

EXERCISE BRIGHT STAR, in Egypt, 10 October to 2 November 1999. Aerial scenes of the Royal Navy task group on exercise, troops disembarking from the ships and the Royal Marines conducting a beach assault using Rigid Raiders, a hovercraft and Sea King helicopters. Aerials of their camp in the desert and internal footage of the Royal Marines Logistic Corps command post. The medical squadron at work, including evacuating a staged casualty, supplies being moved by Chinook helicopters and marines relaxing in camp.

OPERATION SILKMAN, in Sierra Leone, November 2000. The Amphibious Ready Group, including Royal Marines from 42 Commando based on HMS Ocean (L.12) and an element attached from the Royal Marine Reserve land on the beaches of Sierra Leone, before moving inland by a mechanised convoy and being greeted by locals from the built up area. Mortar teams are shown in (presumably staged) action, marines patrol an inland river in Rigid Raiders and on foot along the river bank in a show of strength.
