I. Queen's Royal Lancers on patrol. Views from WMIK Land Rover (with mounted rear gun) driving through the marsh areas; other WMIKs driving alongside. WMIKs on track. Commanders walk towards reeds and back towards camera (staged). Views of temporary QRL camp and Iraqi fort. Members of the QRL and the DBE relax and share snuff; they also smoke from a shisha. At their temporary camp, members of the Queen's Royal Lancers receive their mail and read their letters; medic reads a newspaper.

II. Royal Marines (539 Assault Squadron) in the marshes. Views of RM Zodiac inflatable boats setting off: they make their way slowly through the reeds. Various shots of the Zodiacs alongside airboats (with rear-mounted fans) of the DBE as they make their way across the open water of the marshes. They approach fishermen in their boats on the marshes; the meetings are cordial. RM and DBE on the open water. Boats return to the makeshift dock.
