Soldiers go on patrol from Basra Air Station to check roadside VPs - "vulnerable points" where there is a high risk of the concealment of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Open air briefing before platoon sets off, including discussion of route; close up of map. Platoon sets off in Snatch Land Rovers (view inside vehicle and from top cover). Vessels are prepared and loaded at roadside loading bay. Views of Snatch driving towards the camera and platoon deploying (staged). Land Rovers are fitted with EECM (Enhanced Electronic Counter-Measures) equipment to help detect roadside bombs.
