OPERATION TINTO, BASRA, MAY 2006 (ROUGH EDIT) [Allocated Title]
Scenes from Operation Tinto, a search and arrest mission against suspected insurgents in Basra, carried out by the Iraqi Police and members of 1st Battalion the Light Infantry, 2nd Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment, the Queen's Royal Hussars and 1st Battalion the Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry.
At night (24 May), British soldiers search suspect house; occupants of the house are held under arrest. Items are discovered and laid out for inspection: possible bomb-making equipment including wires and timers. In the yard, various ordnance (including various fuses, mortar rounds and a rocket propelled grenade) are laid out for inspection. Blindfolded suspects are led from the house to waiting Land Rovers and put inside. Further views of the yard, where the various mortars and fuses are inspected and photographed by an ATO (Ammunition Technical Officer).
