GORDON BROWN VISITS BRITISH FORCES IN BASRA, 9 DECEMBER 2007 [Allocated Title]
Visit to troops by the Right Honourable Gordon Brown, British Prime Minister.
I. Gordon Brown arrives at Divisional Headquarters where he meets officers and Army and civilian personnel; he also meets Australian and Danish troops. (Cameraman Ralph Merry takes still photographs.) Other services are also present.
II. Major General Graham Binns, commander of British forces in Iraq, calls the assembly to order, and Gordon Brown gives an address during which he thanks the personnel and announces the imminent handover of Basra to provincial Iraqi control (PIC).
