OPERATION BLACK VIPER 2, BASRA, 26 NOVEMBER 2007 (TAPE 1) [Allocated Title]
Members of 34 Squadron the RAF Regiment on patrol on the streets of Basra.
I. Informal interview with British soldier in office (includes swearing and rude gestures).
II. General views of patrol through a village outside Basra, shot using an image intensifier. Mastiff armoured vehicle is parked by the roadside while a search is made (on foot) of the roadside for possible improvised explosive devices.
III. Daylight shots of foot patrol on the outside of a village; the terrain around the houses is very bumpy. Tactics are discussed. Soldier (Captain Lorna Ward of the Combat Camera Team) advances. General patrol shots through village and past derelict railway line; there are small lineside fires. A suspect vehicle with tinted windows is searched and photographed. Flight Lieutenant May talks with Captain Lorna Ward about the patrol; CCT stills cameraman takes photographs as the patrol continues through the (nearly deserted) village and its outskirts.
