Full description
Film opens to crowds around the parade ground at RAF Halton, RAF ensign flying at yardarm, as the Halton band leads the marching apprentices past in very precise formations with the regimental goat at heal. Cut to proud parents in the crowd. Lord Trenchard inspects the paraded apprentices ranged in immaculate formation. The platoons, rifles at the slope, march away, section by section. Lord Trenchard takes the salute as the trumpeters lead the Band and the serried ranks of apprentices past. Film cuts to overall view of the parade ground and accommodation blocks. Lord Trenchard seen conversing with the commanding officer and other officers.
Content description
Display of apprentices in white gym gear running and marching to demonstrate their agility, watched by the crowds and senior officers. The display includes all the postures adopted during gym sessions during training. The precise and synchronised movements made by all the apprentices are much appreciated by the proud parents.
