A Navy recruitment film showing what makes a Commando. It takes the form of one of two friends signing up for Royal Marines Commando training and then writing to his friend telling him about his experiences. Later his friend signs up too and they compare experiences. Training takes place at Wrexham, Achnacarry and Lympstone. It stresses training the individual or small group to be a self supporting unit. Later a colleague describes training at St Ives and the film ends with a rousing tribute to the work of the Commandos and their green berets.
The 'Blitz' – from the German term Blitzkrieg ('lightning war') – was the sustained campaign of aerial bombing attacks on British towns and cities carried out by the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) from September 1940 until May 1941.
