OPERATION TELIC, IRAQ, 2003: ROYAL MARINES IN AND AROUND UMM QASR (COMBAT CAMERA TEAM TAPE) [Allocated Title]
Royal Marines patrolling in the Umm Qasr area of Iraq.
Members of 40 Commando search Ba'ath Party headquarters (Umm Qasr ?); other buildings, some damaged, are also searched. Grenade is dropped into sandbagged entrance of underground bunker. Surrendered Iraqis, with hoods on their heads, are held under guard. Street patrol. On a desert road, a car is searched; it is later allowed to proceed. Scimitar armoured vehicle maintenance. Soldier lies on ground (shielded by section of ruined wall) looking through binoculars. Patrol in WMIK Land Rovers comes under fire from Iraqi position. The Iraqi bunker can be seen in the distance; two Commandos make their way towards it. On arrival, one Marine throws a grenade into the bunker, which explodes - the Commandos retreat while the bunker burns. WMIK patrol drives through town (possibly Umm Qasr) and talk with local people.
