A British Army Film and Photographic Unit jeep carrying a tripod-mounted cine-camera is seen in Paris' Left Bank. Cheering Parisians gather round the jeep as it approaches Montparnasse station. General de Gaulle bids a brief farewell to General Leclerc in the presence of the latter's HQ staff at the station. Identifiable among those in the background are General Juis, Andre le Troquer (a Gaullist minister), Colonel 'Rol' Tanguy (Communist chief of the Paris FFI) and, possibly, Jacques Chalban-Delmas (the Gaullist rival to 'Rol' Tanguy) and Philippe de Gaulle (a lieutenant in the French navy). De Gaulle's limousine then leaves for the War Office. Under a flag of truce, a Wehrmacht colonel is driven away through a hostile crowd in a French army jeep to convey news of General von Choltitz's capitulation to German strong-points in Paris still holding out against the Allies. A fellow officer from the German garrison's GHQ is led away through the crowd.
