Motor tug and lighter alongside the ammunition ship Princess Maria-Pia - the lighter carries several 4-inch (?) gun barrels partially sheathed in wood, which are swung up onto ammunition ship. Onboard a stores ship, crates are being lowered into a boat alongside. Winchman manoeuvres a cargo platform stacked with boxes of Tooth's KB lager. HA into hold as crates are lifted up in a sling - a man tightens the bight by hitting the rope with a stave as the hoisting gear takes the weight. Sacks of foodstuffs (potatoes ?) are brought up and lowered into a boat alongside. LS across anchorage, where HQ ship Montclare, floating dock, and various auxiliaries are visible. MS and CU of HMS Montclare - a man descends a slide rigged over the starboard side, while others splash about around the foot of the forward accommodation ladder and dive from lower deck. LS of submarine depot ship HMS Aorangi, and pan right past Dido Class cruiser to hospital ship. MS of a Glen Class LSI (Glenearn ?). MS off starboard beam of hospital ship Maunganui. LS of Princess Maria-Pia and companion. LSs around anchorage, including a Head Class maintenance ship anchored astern of a Dido, and a small tanker (possibly Green Ranger). Onboard the cameraship, crates are lowered by a sling into a LCM(3) alongside. Final CUs of gun barrels being lifted off lighter onto Princess Maria-Pia.
