Full description
MS to Sea Hawk FGA.4 126 (WV 907) of 807 Squadron as it taxies forward to HMS Albion's port bow catapult. 122 follows, moving to the starboard catapult. LS forward along the deck as Sea Hawks are launched. LS-MS from starboard side, just forward of the arrester wires, as two Sea Venom FAW.20s of 890 Squadron land on. HA forward from island as Westland Dragonfly lifts off. HA to Venom 204 on port catapult with another to starboard. HA to Sea Hawk as it is launched from the starboard catapult, the camera panning to follow its flight as it climbs away - in the distance is the American carrier USS Intrepid. A US Mitscher Class destroyer is part of the carrierscreen. Venoms and Sea Hawks land on and taxi forward to park. Dragonfly 901 lands on. Dragonfly 902 is also on deck, chocked up but with engine running - a stroboscopic effect makes the main rotors appear to turn quite slowly. Telephoto to starboard quarter of Intrepid as she recovers an aircraft. Similar shot off port beam of USS Coral Sea - Grumman Panthers are orbiting the ship before landing on. Final XLS of an American aircraft in flight - possibly a Douglas A3?
