HMS Glory celebrates the last take off and landing during Korean operations. A memorial service is held on the flightdeck.
HA.MS from island to memorial service held on the carrier's flightdeck. The chaplain stands by the side of the island facing the flightdeck, the RM band fallen in before him, and the crew gathered in two groups to either side of the marines. The chaplain reads the service, the band plays. Cut to HA.MS to Firefly 202 as it is launched by catapult - aircraft 203 follows, and 205 is taxiing forward into position as the sequence ends. LS-MCU as 203 lands on. 210 lands on and deckcrew begin manual folding of the wings - it is the last landing and men swarm onto the deck, surrounding the aircraft - some actually climb onto the aircraft to take photographs - the RM band approaches, playing a tune. Cut back to HA sequence showing memorial service - Captain Maunsell speaks, the crew sing, a file of Marines fires a salute (one muffs the drill and raises his rifle too early for the second volley), and presents arms as a bugler sounds the retreat.
