The United Nations' General Assembly holds its first session at Central Hall, Westminster; some of the delegates from the 51 countries represented start to arrive. Inside, Clement Attlee starts to give his speech, and excerpts from it comprise the remainder of the soundtrack. These excerpts are coupled with stock footage of the war, Nazi rallies, reconstruction, League of Nations meetings, combat, liberation. Clement puts his full support behind the UN, explains the purposes of the UN Charter (against footage of refugees). The atomic bomb was "the last of a series of warnings to mankind... Today as never before the world is united." The UN's ultimate aim is "the creation of a world of security and freedom... we must, we will, succeed."
