Sister Greatheart with the Army Nursing Services in the Middle East.
The film shows the nurses sitting around talking. One of them writes a letter: "...have just arrived from the desert and am spending a much-needed leave in Cairo. Yesterday we all had a jolly good time shopping in the bazaars" (shots of the nurses shopping) "...the beautiful things are made by children not yet in their teens". Back in 'The Sunshine Ward'. Scenes of a nurse bandaging a man's leg, a man with a hook for a hand smoking a cigarette, a man being given blood and Sister Greatheart reading a note asking her to report for duty forthwith. The film is dedicated "to those who are doing God's work amidst suffering".
